Today I went up on the scaffolding and had a look at the site from there. It’s really coming on now and the steel frame for the roof will soon be in place. You may recognise someone in these photos!
Work began again on site on Thursday 5th January after the CHristmas break. The workmen would have been back sooner were it not for the high winds we’ve had in the last few days. This is the view from outside Y1 classrooms.
The building is getting higher but there have been no dramatic changes this week. Here you can see the insulation tiles being taken up to the scaffolding.
As winter draws in poor weather is forecast I fear for progress on the build! The 2nd height of scaffolding is due this week and the brickwork needs to be completed whilst the weather is mild enough. Fingers crossed!
This week Conlon’s brought Ivor Goodsite to visit the children and talk about the dangers of visiting building sites.
Our building is growing quickly and you can see the structure for the skylight which will rise above the the corridor by our new library.
